S. Brown reported that she was invited to Province House for an announcement that the Province of Nova Scotia has signed an agreement that will allow international students to work for two years following their graduation.

Senate agreed to the following friendly amendment to the wording of the membership section of the committee: a maximum of two graduate students, selected in consultation with the Student Union.
M. Lyon reported that all Mount students who applied for Canada Graduate Scholarships were successful.

7.14.1 Recommendation to revise Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
Moved by L. Theriault, seconded by A. MacGillivary that Senate approve the revisions to the undergraduate admission requirements. CARRIED.
L. Theriault agreed to recommend that the grammatical aspects of the Calendar be examined by the editor prior to the next Calendar publication.
Under the Bachelor of Arts listing, L. Theriault agreed to include a list of majors referred to in the statement, â Students who are interested in pursuing majors which require mathematics are recommended to complete grade XI and XII academic or advanced mathematics.â

8.1 Studentsâ Union
C. Brushett introduced J. West as the incoming student representative to Senate.
8.2 Board of Governors
P. Baker reported that the Board of Governors recently met to discuss governance. The Board considered

two issues: 1) a questionnaire/evaluation form that the Board of Governors completed; and 2) a document that examines the roles and responsibilities of the Board of Governors, the President and senior management of the University. The Board approved both documents. Implementation of the recommendations will move forward.
