There was no report. 7.2 Academic Appeals Committee B. McInnis reported that there is a case coming forward but it has not yet gone to hearing. 7.3 Academic Policy and Planning There was no report.

7.4 Graduate Studies Program and Policy Committee There was no report. 7.5 Graduate Studies Scholarships, Assistantships and Awards Committee There was no report. 7.6 Undergraduate Curriculum J. Sharpe reported that the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee is still looking for feedback on the combined major proposal. 7.7 Committee on Appointment, Promotion and Tenure or Permanence for Academic Administrators (CAPTPAA) There was no report. 7.8 Committee on Information Technology and Services There was no report. 7.9 Library There was no report. 7.10 Nominations 7.10.1 Report on faculty election results I. Blum presented results of persons elected to upcoming vacant positions on Senate and the Board of Governors as noted in the table below. There is one vacancy remaining for Senate for 2009-2010, nominations are closed, but there are three persons nominated and an election will be held in early September.

Moved by I. Blum, seconded by J. MacLeod that Norman Okihiro be appointed Chair of the Student Discipline Appeals Committee effective July 1, 2009. CARRIED 7.11 Research and Publications There was no report. 7.12 Student Affairs There was no report. 7.13 Committee on Teaching and Learning P. Watts noted that, if funds are available, a faculty member will be selected to attend the annual Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Conference. A notice will be sent to all faculty inviting applications. 7.14 Writing Initiatives There was no report. 7.15 Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships There was no report. 7.16 University Research Ethics Board There was no report.

8.1 Studentsâ Union J. Neilsen reported the new executive has been in place since last Friday. The Studentsâ Union met to pass the budget, and some position titles have been changed: VP Academic has been changed to VP Student Advocacy. J. Neilsen is the new representative for the University C.F.S. Provincial Board. 8.2 Destination 2012 There was no report. 8.3 Joint Board-Senate Liaison Committee
