dc.descriptionThe purpose of this paper is to explore how participation in highly-participative workplaces (particularly worker co-operatives) defines, enables, and impedes workplace outcomes towards ecological sustainability in a selected sample of firms. Highly-participative workplaces are understood here as firms where non-managerial workers have greater-than-average power and/or discretion in governance, operations, human resources, etc., and where conventional hierarchies are absent or function less to structure and constrain workers' decision-making. Dimensions undertaken include psychology, ethics, operations, governance, and organizational behavior.en_US
